The programme at Birkbeck, University of London emphasises the importance of an academic and intellectually challenging approach to the study of law, and of its institutions and processes.

The LLM Qualifying Law Degree puts the study of law within the wider socio-economic and political framework, giving students a social-political grounding in the law.

Career

Graduates go in to careers in the legal profession. Others use the degree to develop their existing career, to further their academic skills, or as preparation for a research degree. Possible professions include barrister/solicitor, patent attorney, or barristerÕs clerk. Many of our graduates go on to vocational training and obtain solicitors' training contracts and pupillages in barristers' chambers.
