Criminology is much more than the study of committing crimes; it is the understanding of how crime affects society as a whole. During this course you will focus on issues such as: the motivations behind criminal or deviant behaviour; contemporary methods of policing and crime prevention; the workings of the criminal justice system, and policy development and practice round these important issues.
You will have the opportunity to study criminology from a range of perspectives including social, historical, legal, political, and psychological. Some of the modules on this course are taught by the Department of Sociology.
