On this, students will examine the key disciplines of the exercise sciences and physical activity policies, from the causes of disease, to behaviour change strategies, and students will look at the design of interventions which promote and enhance the nation's health through prevention and treatment. From this, they will learn to design and deliver their own physical activity, exercise and health programmes that can have a lasting and positive impact on people's lives.
Some of our recent students have worked on some exciting and beneficial projects including, investigations into the promotion of men's health through premier league football clubs, the effectiveness of programmes designed to impact risk factors for diabetes or obesity, and physical activity and health programmes in the workplace.
As a graduate, students will be equipped with the knowledge of contemporary advances in the field and the experience of working in professional settings. The multidisciplinary nature of the course lends itself to a wide variety of careers, such as teaching, exercise referral, weight management, physical activity promotion and postgraduate education, in this rapidly expanding and global industry. With our University's track record of helping students gain employment after graduation, we are confident that we will prepare them to stand out from the crowd.
