In thisÊ course at you will study the legal, financial and economic environments in which the industry operates while enhancing your understanding of the other professions involved in building. You will gain an overview of the whole construction process, including surveying, quantity surveying and architectural technology.

You have the option of a placement year in industry to enhance your studies, providing hands-on experience which will be of great use to you in gaining future employment.

Careers

There will always be a need for new buildings. Consequently, there will always be a need for suitably qualified professionals to lead building projects. You will develop many transferable skills on this course but, in the main, you will be prepared to pursue management-level positions in the construction industry, whether you want to work on-site or in office-based roles. As well as working for construction companies, you could also forge a career with organisations that require an understanding of construction, such as housing associations, local authorities, suppliers or consultancies.
