In thisÊ course at you will develop excellent collaborative working skills, study software applications and modelling tools, and learn about how the different aspects of the built environment work together.
We have strong relationships with companies in the region and you will be taught not only by building surveyors but visiting planners, architects, researchers and civil and structural engineers will also deliver guest lectures and share up-to-date experience of their work in the field.
Our students gain hands-on experience during site visits to modern developments and historic projects while studying for a degree that is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Graduates are eligible for full membership of the RICS following an acceptable period of approved professional practice and a successful final assessment of professional competence by the RICS.

We will provide you with the guidance and industry contacts to help launch your career after graduation. Our students have joined some of the most successful consultancy firms in the UK and abroad. With an understanding of buildings, law and management, the career of a building surveyor is extremely varied. Upon graduation, you could go on to work in private practice, for housing companies, with large commercial organisations specialising in conservation or lease legislation, or as an academic. You will also have the option of further study, and you could undertake one of our range of masters degrees, including Construction Law & Dispute Resolution or Facilities Management.
