We will equip you with an understanding of the legal systems, rules and practices that govern and regulate society and our commercial and social relationships. You will also have the opportunity to develop skills in analysis, legal reasoning, evaluation and advocacy. As a qualifying law degree, this course is recognised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board as meeting the academic requirements of your legal training, and completion will enable you to undertake further study in order to become a solicitor or barrister.
This is usually taken between the second and third year of your degree, typically making your course four years in total. Our graduates have gone on to qualify as solicitors and barristers, or they have forged careers in the police, in local and national government and in business and finance. This course is a qualifying law degree, recognised by the legal professionÕs regulators, and successful completion will allow you to progress to the professional stages of training to become a lawyer. Your next stage of training could include our Legal Practice Course, or you could go on to study the Professional Diploma in Legal Executive Practice if you have not already undertaken the CILEx modules in your third year.
