In this course taught at students will create multimedia news content for print, digital, and broadcast platforms. We combine the best of the past with an eye on the future, training students who want to do real journalism. Our purpose-built facilities include computer suites, TV and radio studios, and a dedicated newsroom.

There will be opportunities to do placements and students are expected to do at least three weeks' work experience across their degree, giving them the chance to encounter journalism in a variety of environments. We have links that can help them seek work in a practical environment at the BBC, Skysports, and with a variety of local and national media companies. Our students have completed placements with The Independent, The One Show, local radio, and newspapers.

Careers

Students will be primed with the strong practical and multimedia skills demanded in today's newsrooms and exciting opportunities in news, digital content creation, and digital agencies will be open to them. They will also benefit from our staff's close links to regional and national broadcasting, print, and online media industries. In the past, our students have completed placements with the BBC, ITV, magazines, and national newspapers and have gone on to work for media organizations across the world.
