The Physical Education and Sport programme from the University of Greenwich provides theoretical courses related to the scientific, psychological and sociological study of physical education and sport, and practical courses in athletics, dance, games, gymnastics and swimming.
This programme builds on the foundations of physical education and sport provided by schools and colleges through the physical education National Curriculum and wider programmes in sport and leisure.
You will study courses related to sport policy, practice and development which consider the principles of teaching and coaching, as well as sport in the local, national and international community. In the final year, you will have an opportunity to undertake courses from a range of options, as well as pursue relevant independent study in your chosen area.
The aims of the programme are:
- To provide an education in the disciplines associated with physical education and sport
- To enhance knowledge and understanding of physical education and sport
- To develop key skills such as Information Communication Technology (ICT) and communication
- To develop an enquiring and analytical approach to the study of physical education and support.
