The Student Visa is part of the Points Based System for immigration (PBS), operated by the Home Office. If you have made or are planning to make an application from 9am on 5 October 2020, you will be applying for this new visa in order to study in the UK. If you applied before this date you will have applied for a Tier 4 visa
It costs £348 to apply for a Student visa from outside the UK. You will also pay £348 for each dependent applying with you
Application Process:
- If you require a Student visa you must pass a points-based assessment and score 70 points when making a visa application:
- 50 points for a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from the University of Surrey
- 10 points for meeting the financial requirements
- 10 points of meeting the English language requirements
- Making a successful application which includes:
- Submitting the correct application form
- Paying the application fee (paying the fees is the responsibility of the applicant, not the University)
- Paying the correct Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) fee - IHS is charged at £470 per academic year of study
- A valid Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from the University of Surrey
- Submitting required documents and a letter from the university confirming his/her acceptance for the course
- Documents to show you meet the financial requirements (see below for further details)
- Original academic and English language documents as listed on your CAS.
- Go through a credibity interview with the Home Office for the issuance of VISA
- Acceptance of your application
