• On our MSc Health Psychology course, we'll give students an insider’s perspective on theories, methods, and techniques of health psychology, and the relationship these have with health and illness. This includes a study of the psychological processes involved in maintaining health, the pathological responses to ill health and stress, and the promotion of wellbeing among the physically ill.
  • Students will learn theories and practical issues relevant to health psychology and an understanding of different research approaches. They will learn about a range of applied topics, such as living with chronic conditions, health issues impacting health psychology, how we can help people to maintain their health across their lifespan, psychological aspects of healthcare, and the use of cognitive-behavioral therapy for health psychology. We’ll also give them insight into qualitative and quantitative research methods, ensuring they have a solid foundation to collect, analyze and interpret different kinds of data.
  • Students will complete a research dissertation that will allow them to carry out experiments and projects on important topics in the field. We’ll match their interests with the expertise of our academic staff, ensuring they get the best support. These collaborations have seen previous students’ work being published in top-tier journals.
