This master's course combines comprehensive coverage of core economic principles with a focus on their application in business and corporate finance.
MSc in Business Economics and Finance offers a comprehensive study in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics, while also allowing students to specialize in topics related to business and finance.
Through this course, students will develop specialist knowledge in two important areas. Firstly, our Economics of the Firm and ‘Human Resource Economics’ modules will allow students to examine the importance of business issues in the study of economics, as well as modern developments in personnel economics.
The second area students will specialize in focuses on a combination of the theory of finance and financial econometrics.
This will give students a thorough knowledge of both modern finance theory and the principal techniques that can be applied to financial data.

Academic requirements:

Applicants should normally hold a minimum of a UK 2:1 or overseas equivalent in Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Maths, Physics, or Statistics.
Alternatively, applicants will be considered for admission when they have a UK 2:1 or overseas equivalent in another subject if they achieve above 60 percent (UK grading or overseas equivalent) in Macroeconomics and Microeconomics modules and one other module from Algebra, Calculus, Mathematics, Probability, Quantitative Methods or Statistics.
Applicants not meeting the above entry requirements who hold a 2:2 in a relevant subject may still be considered if they hold a minimum of 12 months of graduate work experience in a position relevant to this course.
