You will study at one of the UK's leading classics departments with an outstanding record in teaching and research. Classical Studies is a flexible degree that offers a great deal of choice in subjects related to the ancient world. Classical Studies is especially suitable for those more interested in historical, philosophical and literary topics without the ancient language.

Classical Studies does not require students to have had any prior classical study as our first year courses are specially designed to introduce students to a range of evidence in different fields to help students decide which topics to focus on in their second and third years. Options include Greek Law and Lawcourts, Logic and Rhetoric and Women in Classical Antiquity. Towards the end of your course, the 10,000 word dissertation allows students to analyse a classical subject of their choice in depth.

This Classical Studies programme offered at the Royal Holloway University of London, which offers you the opportunity to study all aspects of the ancient world Ð its literature, history, philosophy and archaeology Ð as well as the Latin and Greek languages if you wish.

The Department offers rigorous degree courses which will prepare you for a broad range of careers.
