There is a growing need to provide society with modern buildings that are sustainable, energy efficient and green. Architectural engineers focus on the interaction between engineering services, building design and human behaviour to design appropriate low-energy, indoor environments for buildings.

The programmes benefit from the input of our Industrial Advisory Panel - members of local built environment practices who have national expertise and links - which ensures the content of our programmes is highly relevant to employers.

The BEng (Hons) programme aims to provide a broad education across the principal Engineering disciplines and an appropriate depth of technical knowledge and understanding of the key Engineering topics within Architectural Engineering. Students will also gain an understanding of managerial issues within the built environment and the framework in which architectural engineers function.

Employment prospects for architectural engineering graduates are excellent. There are many exciting opportunities for people who want to play a professional role in helping to shape the built environment of the future.
