As the BA Combined degree is free from professional regulations, you are able to have much greater freedom in the modules you study in you second and third years. It may therefore be possible to tailor your studies to compliment your other subject.
  • Efforts are made to enhance your experience by developing and using links with the local legal professions. We are assisted in this to a certain extent, as Chester has been a legal centre since the Middle Ages.
  • During the Law and Spanish Course at the University of Chester you have an opportunity to undertake a 5 to 8 week placement in Spain or Costa Rica at the end of Year 2 (Level 5). You will also have the opportunity to complete an academic year inÊ Spain or Latin America. This allows you to split your experience abroad between two countries and to spend time in both Spain and another Spanish speaking country.Ê
  • In your first year you will have the opportunity to study a further language from scratch.

Job prospects

A degree in Spanish develops an impressive range of skills including strong communication and presentation skills, the ability to work autonomously and in groups, analytical and critical discernment and the resilience and confidence developed during placements abroad. Graduates often pursue further study or careers in translation, teaching, business, hospitality, the public sector and governmental or international organisations.
