The Integrated MSc in Strategic Fashion Management is situated in the Fashion Business School and managed within the Fashion Management programme. This full time course is has evolved from the popular Integrated MSc in International Fashion Management; reordering and refreshing the curriculum to retain the unique language element and introduce an integrated work experience opportunity. The change in name reflects the fact that the course is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), and on graduation you may be awarded a Level 7 CMI Diploma in Strategic Management in addition to your MSc in Strategic Fashion Management.

The Integrated Masters award is a credit based programme which provides a systematic study of a range of applied sciences and industry operations in a global context. The course will be either four or five years in duration, depending on whether you take the opportunity for an optional placement year in industry or study abroad.

This course is designed to respond to the needs of the complex and highly competitive global fashion industry. Fashion businesses across the full spectrum from Luxury to Value operators need graduates who are well placed to respond effectively to the constantly changing context, rising to challenges and exploiting opportunities. This is the only integrated MSc course in the UK for Strategic Fashion Management, thereby bringing a current and innovative dimension to both undergraduate and postgraduate provision.

The curriculum emphasises data analysis and the application of statistical models as a means of problem solving and making informed decisions. You will develop a solid grounding in both theoretical and practical issues relevant to supply chain, merchandising, financial and people management, whilst appreciating the significance of reacting and responding effectively to the constant changes and challenges in global supply and demand. Key features of the course include an opportunity to study a second language at an introductory level for business purposes and the opportunity to obtain credit-bearing work experience.

There are many opportunities to work with and meet industry experts throughout the course by meeting our regular industry speakers and participating in industry-led curriculum projects. Many other opportunities will be open to you including being part of London Fashion Week, various field trips and visits, and an optional trip to a European fashion city in your first year.

You may wish to take advantage of the optional placement year between the second and third year of the course. This placement could be in the UK or overseas and may include a combination of international study and work experience. Successful completion of this year will give you an additional qualification, the Diploma in Professional Studies. MSc students have recently taken up placements in companies including Debenhams, House of Fraser, and Dr Martens, as well as placements abroad in Paris, New York, Melbourne, India and Hong Kong.

The course will enable you to acquire a range of transferable skills which will support your development through the course and in your future career. Throughout the course you are supported in career planning sessions enabling you to make contacts and build relationships within the fashion industry before graduation.
