TheÊHammond Catalysis Engineering (HCE) groupÊspecialises in several aspects of catalysis, including (1) catalysis with porous materials and metal/metal oxide nanoparticles, primarily for liquid phase processes, (2) advanced catalytic studies of catalytic processes withÊin situÊspectroscopy and micro-kinetic analysis, and (3) the intensification (scale up) of catalytic processes.
Catalytic science is at the forefront of the chemical industry, responsible for the production of over 90 % of industrial compounds, such as fuels, bulk chemicals, pharmaceuticalsÊetc. For several processing reasons, heterogeneous catalysts offer practical advantages, and the development of new heterogeneous catalysts and catalytic processes represents a key area of contemporary research.
A major focal point of our teamÕs research is functional group insertion and modification, such as C-O formation (through oxidation), and C-F formation (through fluorination).Ê

Academic Requirements:

Applicants should complete a bachelor’s degree or masters degree in relevant subject
Official transcripts of all the previous academic experience
Students should provide evidence of previous research experience

English Language Requirements:

IELTS Academic: 6.5 minimum overall with minimum of 5.5 in each subskill
PTE Academic: Atleast 69 overall with minimum of 59 in communicative skills
TOEFL IBT: minimum 90 overall with scores of 17 in writing, 17 in listening, 18 in reading and 20 for speaking
