At the University of Hull studying the BA Geography with Teacher Training (Hons) youÕll get to grips with subject-specific geography modules and develop a range of valuable skills in GIS, qualitative methods, group work and report writing. Combine this with teacher training, and youÕll graduate with the skills and expertise to inspire the next generation, and teach young people about the world around them.

YouÕll have the opportunity to participate in field trips in the local area and in overseas destinations such as Morocco, Iceland, Malawi, Germany and Italy. There are also optional field trips to international sites or UK destinations during the final year of study. All core field trips are provided free.Ê

Future Prospects

Students on programmes Ôwith Teacher TrainingÕ will have the knowledge and skills to gain immediate employment in schools and will be eligible to apply for Qualified Teacher Status. They will be able to obtain QTS at the end of their first full time year of employment as a teacher.

You will develop a range of transferable skills in research, data analysis and communication combined with an in-depth knowledge of a number of academic themes.ÊYour employability is boosted by our emphasis on teaching real-world expertise and solving practical problems, which offers you the chance to get to grips with the latest geo-technology, remote sensing, data collection methodology, statistical software and building presentation skills.
