- The study of science fiction and fantasy is over 75 years old and for much of that time has been the domain of English literature specialists. Over the past twenty years, however, strong work has emerged from specialists in film, television, art, publishing, and linguistics.
- The MA Science Fiction and Fantasy will introduce them to contemporary work in these genres across a range of media.
- They will benefit from networking and career-building opportunities with professionals in the industry who will give them insight into how materials in these genres are produced and disseminated to their fans.
- They will consider science fiction and fantasy as products shaped by interactions between the entertainment industry, reviewers, and critics as well as their own fans.
- By analyzing how the boundaries of these genres have been established, policed, challenged, and extended, they will learn to apply their own theories to a range of popular works - and produce their own original writing.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Entry Requirements for the following course:
- A first degree, with honors, in a related subject and at a minimum final classification of a lower second (2:2) or equivalent.
- If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.5 ( Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognized by Anglia Ruskin University
- The works experience is more useful for students opting for the thesis-based Master's program and the admission is offered based upon publications, participation in research projects, and academic awards.
- Students without related academic experience or work experience students are also encouraged to apply, given they have an overall average of at least 70% are required in the UG program.
