• Master of Arts in Screen Business at the University of The West of England is a 1-year program.

  • MA Screen Business is firmly embedded in Bristol's vibrant creative sector and is delivered in partnership with Watershed, the leading film culture and digital media centre in the South West.
  • The core modules of the program include:
    • Global Screen Industries
    • Regional, National and International Screen Industries: A Case Study of Bristol
    • Screen Criticism and Analysis
    • Screen Industries Issues and Debates
    • Entrepreneurship in the Creative Economy
    • Developing a Screen Business Concept for the Marketplace
  • The course runs for three semesters over 12 months.
  • With a strong emphasis on practice-based work running through the course, students will learn about the industrial and business context of film and TV, and build valuable enterprise skills, working with students on our other postgraduate screen MAs.
  • Semesters 1 and 2 involve a higher level of teaching and scheduled learning, with approximately three days per week of contact time and two days of individual study.
  • In semester 3, the focus will be on project work, with 36 hours of tutorial contact time.
