• Master of Research in Applied Science at the University of The West of England is a 1-year program.
  • It is an on-campus program offered on both a full-time and a part-time basis.
  • This MRes is either one year full-time or two years part-time and runs from September to September.
  • As this is a research degree, students will be spend on independent study, but they will have regular contact with their supervisor.
  • This course enables students to deepen their knowledge in an area of interest alongside our world-class research community.
  • After developing a solid grounding in academic research practice, students will graduate in an MRes in Applied Sciences with one of the following specialties:
    • Biological Science
    • Biomedical Science
    • Bio-Sensing Technology
    • Biomedical Engineering
    • Physiology
    • Science Communication
    • Forensic Science
  • Students will learn through a combination of lectures, workshops, seminars, presentations, supervised and independent study.
  • The course starts with a short period of upfront learning at UWE Bristol. This will give students the chance to learn key research concepts and meet their teachers, peers, and the research community.
  • Students will be assessed through coursework, a portfolio, and a written dissertation.
