• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Adult) at the University of The West of England is a 3 years program.
  • It is an on-campus, honours program offered on a full-time basis.
  • This course is accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Students will learn from a passionate, enthusiastic, skilled, and supportive team with a range of experience across the many different aspects of learning disability nursing, and other nursing fields.  
  • The course offers opportunities for diverse placements aboard and throughout the UK, to enrich their experience even further.
  • Through this program, students will learn about the importance of a holistic and relationship-centered approach to nursing care, and how students develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with people in diverse cultural contexts.
  • Nurses are in demand across the UK across fields such as neurology, epilepsy, acute physical and mental healthcare, as well as specialist services for people with learning disabilities.
  • The course includes attendance in classes and online directed learning.
  • Students will continuously be assessed on their clinical practice throughout the course.
  • University also makes use of a mixture of written assignments, case studies, Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), project/portfolio work, timed examinations, and presentations.
  • During the timetabled blocks of the course, students will study full time between 9:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday, except bank holidays.
  • On placement, students will be working full time (37.5 hours), participating in shifts over a 24-hour period, including nights and weekends.
