• Bachelor of Arts in Media Communication at the University of The West of England is a 3 years program.
  • It is an on-campus, honours program offered on both a full-time and a part-time basis.
  • This course equips students with a deep understanding of media culture so they can communicate effectively between media makers, organizations, their clients, and end-users.
  • Students get the option to choose one module from the following modules:
    • BA(Hons) Media Communications
    • BA(Hons) Media Communications (Advertising)
    • BA(Hons) Media Communications (Campaigns)
    • BA(Hons) Media Communications (Public Relations)
  • Students will study a mix of theory, production, and research-based modules, and carry out coursework, developing their confidence through writing, research, production, project design, and coordination.
  • The pattern of work placements and graduate destinations the students pursue represent a wide range of careers both within and outside the media sector.
  • In the final year, students will produce a major practical project or dissertation, or a combination of both, to showcase their writing and making skills.
  • On average, students will attend class activities for 10-12 hours a week over 24 weeks, with additional time allocated for production workshops and working on group projects.
  • Outside class time, students are prepared for course readings and complete writing and research exercises, essays, production exercises, and projects.
  • Students are assessed through exams and a variety of assignments including written work, presentations, research essays, extended projects, and digital media projects and portfolios.
