You will study the core areas of civil engineering as well as gaining an in-depth perspective of the planning, organisation and construction methods involved in building design, enabling you to work across a project life cycle.
Through fieldwork, site visits and design projects you will put theory into practice and work alongside students on related courses, such as construction management and architectural technology. This multidisciplinary approach to project work, designed in consultation with our Industrial Advisory Board, mirrors what you will experience in industry.
You will learn with staff who are active in research and consultancy with strong links to some of the UKÕs most prestigious employers. You will have access to specialist facilities including a concrete lab, hydraulics lab, soils lab, geotechnical centrifuge, dynamics lab and computer suite with specialist software.
The option of a salaried placement year provides valuable work experience and you will have the opportunity to learn Building Information Modelling (BIM) to further enhance your CV. You also have the option to study abroad as part of the Erasmus programme.
