Power engineering plays an increasingly critical role in establishing tomorrowÕs low-carbon society worldwide. Typical applications include electrified vehicles, more-electric aircraft, offshore wind farms, high-voltage direct current transmission, smart cities and renewable energy.ÊIn response to this need, the MSc has been developed to offer a 12-month campus-based postgraduate taught course in Electrical Power Engineering and Systems, as a provision to these students who seek a career in the power sector in the UK or abroad. It is aimed at:

  • Providing the latest knowledge and understanding of specialist topics in electrical power engineering and systems.ÊÊ
  • Developing transferable skills for knowledge acquisition and lifelong employability.ÊÊ
  • Meeting the professional development needs of the students and their employers.ÊÊ
  • Providing relevant training to power engineering graduates who wish to pursue a career as design and development engineers in power electronics, power systems, electrical machines or drive systems.ÊÊ
  • Equipping the students with engineering judgement and critical thinking required for their profession.ÊÊ
  • Laying a solid foundation for further studies and research in electrical power
