As well as acquiring a universal knowledge of the profession from highly qualified and experienced practitioners, youÕll focus on practising the core practical skills required to become a competent practitioner. The interactive learning facilities and simulation from the Adult Nursing (Hons) programme at Bournemouth University suites replicate a range of clinical and community environments and allow you to perform various techniques in a safe and controlled setting.Ê

When youÕve acquired the theory and practical skills on campus, youÕll be ready to experience life in placements, which forms 50% of your course curriculum. Your placements will see you work in a number of exciting and diverse locations, from NHS hospitals to care homes, private clinics to community nursing teams, giving you the experience you need to grow in both confidence and competence. WhatÕs more, each year we host a Nursing Careers Fair with numerous exhibitors in attendance, who in the past have offered students jobs on the spot.

Careers

When you finish your course, you'll have the practical skills and knowledge you need to work in various organisations, such as within the NHS, in both hospital and community settings, or in the private/independent healthcare sector, for example in nursing homes or private hospitals.
