- Faculties are highly supportive, qualified,and knowledgeable .Semester exams are highly challenging but fair. Classrooms are good , washrooms are clean , sports ground is also available,Wi-Fi advanced labs,and extensive library ,nutritious food
- The curriculum is meticulously designed to foster critical thinking,comprehensive understanding of healthcare challenges and ethical practices.
Dislikes
- It is extremely competitive and high- stress environment for medical students
- Some nurses answer rudely and arrogantly patient care can be improved
- There's no facility for poor people in hospital
Remarks :
I choosed CMC Vellore over other colleges because it is ranked among the top academic, health care and research institutions in India .This college was also recognised by NMC. CMC Vellore also has a history of medical education that has span over 100 years ,this was one of the main reason to choose CMC over other private institutions. The hospital here have the foremost patient flow .. it's around 8000 per day ,so we can get ultimate exposure to all common and rre cases in our clinical posting. CMC Vellore conducts a computer -based entrance examination. To be eligible for the BS.c nursing program in CMC Vellore: candidates must have passed 12th grade board exams and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (botany and zoology) and in English individually at the qualifying examination from any recognised board. There is 5% relaxation for admission to all the SC/ST candidates Only unmarried women candidates are eligible to apply
Course Curriculum Overview :
College of nursing here follows the curriculum recommended by the INC . Curriculum is well- planned and implemented it helps to equip nurses to assume responsibility as efficient and compassionate registed nurses,and midwives to cater quality care to patients in rehabilitative services Curriculum helps in preparing nurses to think critically and possess sound decision -making skills to protect the rights of individual. It has been upgrading the curriculum like course faculty on innovative and effective teaching methodologies,assessment tailored to couses objectives and teaching methods. Exams are conducted by CMC(Vellore and Chittoor campus) Exams are held once in a year, application and mode of exams are online Selection basis are: CBT+Interview.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Total Year wise fees is about ?35,457 for general category student. Tution fees :?810 Other annual fee including uniform :?19,130 University fees:?7,550 Hostel and mess fee(Annual) :?31,100. Tution fees is very minimal and scholarship is available for economically backward students,along with that 2 yrs of bond is present which is beneficial for students ,there are no hidden fees
Campus Life :
The campus offers a wide range of extracurricular activities and fests that llow students to explore their interests and develop well - rounded personalities .Cultural programmes are many. There is lot of opportunities to explore our talents .Our college library has a wide range of books and journals available to medical,paramedical, nursing students ,library has about 1,500 journals and 19,000 books and other sources. It offers Wi-Fi advanced labs,modern classrooms, and extensive library sources.Hostel facilities are also good . Here students life is not all academics,we have annual hostel day entertainment and various competitions within each hostel . There are variety of social,cultural and religious activities held here.
Faculty :
Number of students granted admission to this institution is relatively lesser than many other private colleges.This , therefore prompts that student-teacher ration is merely 1:5.Most of the faculties are pH D holders in our college,and they are well experienced,they teach us more practically,so we can learn easily and quickly.I think all teachers are very well talented, some are strict and I understand it's only for my goodness.There was 2 step selection process for BS.c in Nursing; first was a computer based test ,then we had personal interviews and special tests to assesses skills , attitudes and other attributes, Christian students may also be given Bible knowledge test .Exam are highly challenging and competitive here.Only 100 seats are available for BS.c nursing and many fail in their entrance exam which is near to highly difficult level
