Im staying in the NITK girls hostel. It isn't a great room since it is a government college. Hot water is not available but for the weather it is bearable. The food at the mess is outsourced and is thus not bad. Sometimes the food is tasty but overall nutrition is less.
Nearly every single faculty member here is from an IIT or an equally prestiguous institute. They have immense knowledge in their field. Mechanical professors are strict in the 75 percent attendance mandate but otherwise guide us in major and minor problem statements. Exams are very hard and even the quizzes can be mind boggling. Course curriculum gets updated based on requirement. Failures in each course are quite a few since exams are set of a high standard.
