University life as a psychology student
Likes
- The cocurricular activities but theres still alpt of need to advanced the facilities like sound system, room conditioning, space and accommodation.
- My engagement with the university is at average but i try my best to engage myself more each time.
- The professors of my department do their best when it comes to teaching us and i really appreciate it. They take good care of us mentally and physically anf make sure that they are there for us.
Dislikes
- The lack of advance facilities such as smart board, weakly powered fans etc.
- There is still alot of need for more spacious classroom and halls to accommodate large number of students
- Theres no cooperation between students and the administration
Remarks :
This university was suggested to me by one of my friend who is also pursuing his masters from the same university. I first opted for Nagaland University at Meriema but didnt got selected, but i can confidently say that i did the right thing coming to my present university because the course im doing right now is the one for me as ive been growing my interest in it as the semester goes on and i can see myself working as a counselor thanks to all the exposure, internships and first hand classroom knowledge.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose this course because of my curiosity and interest towards human behavior. After starting the course it has made me grow a huge interest on counseling. Now im aiming to become a counselor and help people mentally. The faculties have been making sure we learn the counseling process firsthand by providing us exposures and internships which has been helping me alot in terms of widening my knowledge and interest.
Internships Opportunities :
We are made to compulsorily go for internship every summer and winter break from 1 st sem to 3rd semester. Whereas from 3rd semester we are made to go for internship every thursday in a place of our choice which may be a school, ngo or hospital, but they do sometimes assigned where we should go.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The admission for our pg course is 5000 and the monthly fee is 22250. Whereas few amounts are deducted for the alumnis and the catholics. The scholarship that is available for us is Post matric scholarship amount upto 15000 only Merit scholarship amount upto 20000
Campus Life :
Our department conducts psych fest once every year, and it is a very innovative programme as we get to explore ourselves as we are given the opportunity to freely participate in different activities such as photography, writing, model making, singing, dancing, animations, videography etc. Also our university has been conducting inter- sports where different colleges comes together to compete and have a time of meet and greet. Other activities involve departmental activities, sports week.
Faculty :
The teachers are very friendly and understanding. They take care of our mental health and make sure that we are not suffering alone. They have been doing their best to let us learn in the most effective way possible and does not leave us hanging with little knowledge.
