I chose Chandigarh Engineering College (CEC) Landran over other institutions like Thapar Institute, Chitkara University, and Lovely Professional University (LPU) primarily because of its industry-aligned curriculum, experienced faculty, and strong placement record in the IT sector. I found CEC’s practical approach and focus on IT more suited to my career goals. Thapar’s high cutoffs and competitive environment posed challenges, and while LPU had impressive infrastructure, CEC’s personalized attention and focused environment were more appealing. CEC’s admission process is straightforward, accepting JEE Main scores and 10+2 marks. The process includes counseling based on rank, with clear guidance provided throughout. The smooth admission experience and the relevance of the course curriculum were key factors in my decision to choose CEC Landran.

The average placement of Thapar is around 10 lakhs per yr. Students are eligible for placement after completing 3rd yr. Various companies like Zomato, Google, Aplle recruits students from Thapar. The highest package offered this yer=ar to two students was aroun 1.2 Cr per yr and this was campus placement. Percentage of students getting placed is above 90%. If a student wants to apply for off campus placement, he can do that as well. I will persue Masters after this degree

Honest Review for IIT Ropar.
Placement Experience :
Placements are offered in the 8th semester, i.e 4th year. The placement record if IIT Ropar is really good with always-increasing graph each year. The placements of core branches like Civil are not as good as CSE but they are satisfactory.
