Remarks :

Sharda University was my top choice because it offered the specialized program I was interested in - MSc Food Science and Technology - which wasn't available at other institutions I considered and due to its stronger industry connections, modern infrastructure, and diverse student body. The overall experience was smooth, with clear communication and support from the admissions team.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I would rate the MSc Food Science curriculum 4.2 out of 5 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness. The program's emphasis on food safety, processing, and product development aligned with my career goals, drawing me to this course. The curriculum effectively prepares me for real-world applications, with industry-relevant projects and collaborations. However, I suggest expanding on emerging areas like plant-based foods, food microbiomics, and sustainability. Teaching methods could be improved by incorporating more hands-on training, workshops, and industry guest lectures. Exams occur twice a semester, with a balanced mix of theoretical and practical assessments. I find them challenging, but manageable, with adequate preparation. Overall, the curriculum provides a solid foundation in food science, with some refinements needed to stay ahead of industry trends.

Internships Opportunities :

Here's a short paragraph on internship opportunities: "Sharda University offers internship opportunities with renowned companies. I interned in labs and food industries My project involved analyzing food samples for contamination and implementing quality assurance measures. I worked on a team to develop and implement a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plan, resulting in a 25% reduction in contamination rates. Other roles offered under internships include Research Assistant, Food Safety Inspector, and Product Development Trainee. These internships provide hands-on experience, industry exposure, and valuable networking opportunities, preparing us for successful careers in the food industry.

Placement Experience :

Sharda University has a decent placement record, with students becoming eligible for campus placements. The highest package was around ?7 lakhs per annum, with an average package of ?4-5 lakhs. About 50-60% of students secure placements, mostly in profiles like food safety, quality control, and research. However, some students opt for higher studies or entrepreneurship. As for me, I plan to pursue a career in food product development, leveraging the skills and knowledge gained during my MSc Food Science and Technology course.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I paid a total of approximately ?140,000 for one year, which includes examination fees, admission fees, and library fees, to attend Sharda University. Fortunately, Sharda University offers various scholarships to support students who excel academically. These scholarships include: - Merit-based scholarships for students with high CGPA in 12th grade or graduation - Sports category scholarship for talented athletes - Sibling scholarship for students with siblings already enrolled at the university - CUET scholarship for students who perform well in the Central Universities Common Entrance Test - Innovative idea scholarship for students with creative and innovative ideas These scholarships can help alleviate some of the financial burdens and recognize students' achievements and potential.

Campus Life :

My experience with campus life at Sharda University has been enriching, with a blend of social, academic, and extracurricular activities. We have annual festivals. The library offers an extensive range of books and journals, with easy access and digital resources. Classrooms are equipped with modern technology, including smartboards and projectors. Sports facilities include basketball courts, football fields, and a gym.Student-run groups like the Cultural Committee and Student Council foster a sense of community. Overall, campus life is vibrant, with opportunities to explore interests and build connections.

Faculty :

The faculty-to-student ratio is approximately 1:15, allowing for personalized attention and mentorship. Most faculty members are approachable and foster a supportive learning environment. The course structure is well-organized, with a mix of theoretical and practical components. We have two exams per semester, which can be challenging, but the faculty provides adequate preparation. About 10-15% of students struggle to clear exams, often due to poor time management. The course curriculum is relevant to industry needs, with regular updates to reflect emerging trends. Overall, the faculty and course structure have prepared me well for my future career.
