- First of all Ravenshaw University Is best known for its friendly campus which is filled with greenery and you will get positive environment everywhere in the campus.
- I appreciate the hostel facilities provided by RU. It's really very impressive and foods of all the 13 hostels are delicious according to all hostelites.
- The institution has a great no. Of faculty members who are really very experienced. Every departments in the institution has atleast 2-3 well experienced professors and asst. Professors that makes this university a unique learning centre of odisha.
Dislikes
- The very first thing I dislike about this institution is it's drainage systems. There are 4 gateway to enter into the campus but at the main entrance will always be closed in rainy days due to heavy rain water on the road which makes it very awkward.
- Another imp. thing is there is a second campus of Ravenshaw University called Mahanadi campus which is 13km away from the main campus. The 2nd campus is for IST & ITM Students and there's no good hostel facilities for students & they travel daily.
Remarks :
I applied for 5 colleges for my graduation within the state odish. Those are 1. Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, 2. Salipur autonomous college, Cuttack, 3. Kendrapara autonomous college, kendrapara, 4. Pattamundai college, kendrapara, 5. Aul government college, Kendrapara. I didn't get any rejection from any college because I got 81 percentage in my 12th board exam and I easily got admission into Ravenshaw University in the first selection of the first phase of admission because the cut off percentage for English honours (BA) was 77.50 in the academic year 2023-24. The admission process of RU is very easy. You've to first apply for this institution in you preferred course, once you got selected you would've to visit the respective department to get admission. During admission you have to pay1750/- & documents like adhaar card, 10th and 12th board examination certificate and marksheet, reservation certificate(if have any), leaving certificate(from previous institution), photo copies etc.
Course Curriculum Overview :
As I've mentioned before I'm pursuing English honours, I made the decision to take english honours because I love to read and go through literatures including British English literature, Indian English literature, American English literature etc. All these vibrant type of literatures are present in english honours in graduation level. All these curriculum prepare all the english literature students in a great way. As of the guidelines of UGC the institution conducts internal exams once in 3 months and semester once in 6 months. And there are 90 days gap between two semesters. According to me there is no such difficulties in any of the exams.
Internships Opportunities :
There are many internships available in RU. Many companies like cognizant, TCS, Wipro, Infosys etc. visit every year. Sorry for the inconvenience but I've very few knowledge about the stipend and projects and outcomes of internships.
Placement Experience :
The placements of this institution is average like you would get placements in very distinctive courses like in BCA, BBA, biotechnology, and others. There are many companies where students get selected like Tata, Wipro, Infosys, etc. The highest package is 6LPA, average package is 3LPA and minimum package is 2.5 LPA . Overall, a little no. Students get placements every year
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
So first of all Ravenshaw University is one of the most affordable institutions in India. It offers a lot of courses which are very thrifty. If a student ever wants to study in RU in BA English hons. then he/she has to pay only 1750/- at the time of admission. This amount is for one academic year. And there will be no further charges for any other academic purposes. Then the institution provides all the scholarships given by both the state govt. and central govt. like odisha state scholarship, NSP and many more. When students pursue their graduation in English hons. in RU they don't have to pay for tuition fees, caution fees, registration fees, developement fees and lab fees. Then we come to hostel facilities provided by RU. There are 13 hostels in RU for both the boys and girls, a boarder will have to pay 8000/- per year for being a hostelite that includes hostel establishment fees, electricity fees, etc. and the canteen fees will be 1.9k-2.4k PM. PWD, SC,STs get best facilities in RU
Campus Life :
First of all if you once got admission in RU your life will definitely be changed within a few months. Many qualified and intellectual students prefer this institution for their higher studies. The university has a very friendly environment that unite each and every studens but one thing is remarkable that you've to be that friendly to all which definitely will change your life style for sure. There are a lot no. Of festivals held every year in the campus. A new year starts with Saraswati Puja then annual functions of every hostels that give a pompous night to all mostly in March and April every year. Then comes indigenous day, independence day, Ganesh chaturthi, nuankhai vetghat which the greatest western odisha festival, and in the end a year every departments organise fresher's party for the newly admitted students. You will get a numerous moments to celebrate in this institution. There is a special intra- university group called pride of Ravenshaw that helds all the cultural acts.
Hostel Facilities :
There Are 13 hostels for both the boys and girls. Every hostels is controlled by the chief warden of the university. All the hostels are in a very good condition even after the institution completed it's 156 years of establishment. As of my knowledge all the rooms of each and every hostels are very neat and clean. You will get a very friendly environment in every hostels. Washrooms, toilets are very clean and well maintained. Overall every students get every possible facilities in every possible ways. Meal quality of every hostels are quite impressive and full of delicacy. You will get non-vage 5 days in a week that includes Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There are also special meals provided once in 1 or 2 months. The institution is established in a market place. There are many PGs arround the campus and they are also very cost effective.
Faculty :
As I've previously said that the faculty members of RU are very good and considerable. There are 400+ faculty and staffs in RU. The respected vice chancellor sir is a very good heartened and kind person. He always thinks about the students and the University. Due to his tireless efforts and perseverance, the institution got NAAC A++ grade in previous NAAC peer team visit. As I'm a student of English department, as of my experience all the teachers are very Frank and friendly to each and every students. And I like every teacher as they all have that ability to attract students by their great way of teaching. Then we come to examination. There will be 2 semesters & 2 internals in a year and you have to give 6 semesters & internals in 3 years of graduation. The marking system is based on the merit of the students. The teachers always say that your efforts and hardwork give you a perfect result.

Placement Experience :
As per my knowledge the students get placement from Final year but I am not sure about it. Actually, the palcement si for professional courses like ISTM, Chemistry, physics, and Mathematics not for English literature students, so I am not able to tell about it.
