- One good thing I liked in KL is the environment here and the seniors. Since this is a ragging-free college, the seniors here are so friendly and supportive and lends us help when in need.
- Coming to the environment, the amount of greenery here is like really refreshing and soothing as well. At times when you are feeling really low, sitting under a tree and just looking at the environment around can bring you so much peace.
- There's a separate place for all students to bring out innovative thoughts and work on them. The place is named by SAC- Student Activity Centre. We get to do many things there and join clubs which will lead us to many oppurtunities of collaborations.
Dislikes
- One thing I dislike about the university is the dress code, not everybody might be comfortable with the kurtas and duppattas as few of them maynot be quite accustomed to it.
Remarks :
The eligibility of the admission process is that they should have already completed their plus two and plus one. All the details for the admission criteria, application form, application fees, and application dates, and all the related details. The exam is based on a very basic level. Like they will have the questions at a very simple level so it will be easy for students to crack the exam. The time slot also will be good enough for students who have come prepared as the questions are at basic level. The addmission process is quite good so I personally feel that they don't need any more further improvements. The consession or scholarship will be based on how well you write your exam. For people who are from BiPC background, they will have a one month bridge course where all the basics will be taught.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I was initially from BiPC background. So I thought it would be difficult for me to adjust with CSE. But having a little knowledge on coding it went on like a cakewalk with the help of our professors. Since I had no option left I had to take CSE, but eventually I fell in love with coding. I thought it wuould be very difficult to manage but then I found it way more interesting and fun to learn different languages, development,etc. The curriculum made us get ready to face many challenges like collaborating with strangers in various projects, communication, etc. I feel like the curricculm is already perfect and it does not need any more changes to it in addition. The exams are lso conducted based on what we practically learnt so it was kind of very easy for each one of us to give exams.
Internships Opportunities :
Many companies like google, amaxon, flipcart, reliance, etc offers good internship offers to the university for people with good skills. Coming to the roles, if you are really good at your skills you may even get uour role as a developer, tester and many others. We may even have a job offer along with the internship if you are really good at your work. Few of them can apply internships at early stages itself if they are confident enough on their skills to work at a professional place or workspace. Projects really do help us do many things as we get to collaborate with many strangers, people around you, and gives you enough work experience. Based on preal time projects you may even get investments from higher officials at the university and you can also collaborate at a higher level enhancing your experience, and collaboration.
Placement Experience :
Students will be eligible for placements right from Second semester of third year. You can even have internships right from first year based on the skills you possess. For few there will be internship offers where you get a contract of job offer as well. Many companies like flipcart, amazon, google, and few basic companies like delloite, cognizant, TCS, infosis, wipro, etc come for placements here ranging various packages. The highest packages here will be at a range of 1cr per annum, 50lks per annum, etc. And the avearage package will be at a range of 3-4 lakhs per annum. The percentage of students getting placed here will be approximately 80% as far as I know excluding those who are interested in persuing their masters. My plan after my degree will be job of 2 years and clearing my loan an then persuing my masters and then put up some business as of now.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For the initial registrations, we will have to pay almost 15,000. The normal sem fee is approximately 1,35,000 sem wise. Which will be almost 2,70,000 for one year for CSE. Whereas for ECE you will have a fees of approximately 1,30,000. It is the same for AIDS branch as well. The sem cost depends on the branch you choose. If you give an entrance exam, you will be getting a scholarship amount. The scholarship will persist only if you maintain a CGPA of above 9. If your attendance is low, i.e., between 75% to 85% you will have to pay a condonation fee of 500 rupees. You will also have to pay fees for various certifications in your 2nd year which will helo you with your job qualifications. You will have to few extra fees for few additional courses like social internship that is an amount of 250/- which is a mandatory social activity for every student. You can have an education loan upto certain amount.
Campus Life :
There will be technical and cutural fests in college in the months of October and February containing many technical and non-technical activities like hackathons, tech fests, coding competitions, etc. There will be an annual programs named Smart India Hackathon and Swetcha which is complete technical activities including hacknights, contests, etc. The books and journals available in library is quite good as this is recognised as top 7th library in all over Asia. the library is very peaceful, calm and very soothing. Each classroom is provided with digital boards and good amount of wifi to connect to so as to have advanced learning techniques. Each student will be having a separate sports from second year as a mandatory course so as to keep the students fit. They can go in any sports that they are interested in. For extracurricular activities, we have Student activity Centre and many more clubs. SAC is run and develeoped by Students at KL which is very user friendly.
Hostel Facilities :
Coming to hostel rooms, we have variety of categories when it comes to hostel rooms based on the price. For example basic things at a hostel room is chairs, tables, cupboards for storage, etc. The remaining factors depends on the amount and type of room that you will take in. It is all based on what type of room you take, we have refriderators, ovens, AC's , etc. The quality of menu is also quite good. We have menu changing everyday and we have one non-veg meal every night. For vegetarians we have separate section under the mess. The hostel registration fee is 500/- rupees. From second year we must pay the hostel fee through online i.e., ERP portal where every student works on theor classes, attendance, etc.
Faculty :
The faculty to student ratio will approximately be 3:60 which is 1:20, which is very easy for lecturers to handle a bunch of students and check on them. The faculty's approach towards the academics sticks to the point. For example, they will have an academic plan and they teach us accordingly. Most of the times the faculty try to maintain at that point. They will go as per schedule and we will even get time for revision of the syllabus. For lab we will have 3 faculty to look after individuals along with the lab incharge who will make sure students are doing their best and make sure that they utilize college's property.
