An honest review of Pachhunga University College
Likes
- The education provided is excellent, the teaching staffs are great.
- Extra curricular activities provided are great. Various clubs existed which students can join through which they can improve their skills.
- Students from poorer families are given priorities and there are several programs through which they can earn money.
Dislikes
- The parking area is huge, but given that lots of students commute by their own two wheelers, it can be a little crowded.
- The college provides four buses for the commutation of the students, however due to the huge amount of students, number of buses should be increased.
Remarks :
The courses offered are eligible for those who cleared their class 12th board exams, the applicants are chosen through their combined scores from their last board exams and the college's entrance test or the CUET exams. There are reservations for those who hold placement in the board exam's top 10, and for the subject toppers in their respective subjects of excellence
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course i choose will help me greatly for my future career, the teachers explanations are easily understandable for the students. However, with the introduction of NEP system, it is disturbing for the main courses given that students are given different subjects from other courses such as science for arts students. This hinders the proces of excelling at one's chosen subject.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
One academic year mostly cost around rs.10000, it may vary due to the different types of courses. Students that are eligible can apply fpr two scholarships namely Ishaan Udaan Scholarship and tribal scholarship.
Campus Life :
Many festivals are held each academic year such as: College week: this is a sports week for all the students Literature fest Winter fest Cultural day And many others. Students can participate in the name of the college at various competitions such as debates, quizzes, dramas, prose and poetry writing, sports and many more. The various clubs at the college provide much needed education for an all rounded development outside of the curriculum. Students can chhose to be a member from more than 10 clubs such as drama club, cultural club, Literature club, dance club, arts club, photography club and others. Students can also sign up to join and volunteer for groups such as NSS, NCC, Red Ribbon Club and others.The library is a two storey building with a basement, it had a wide range of books from all different types of genres and subjects, the book count is more than 10,000. Faculty :
The different departments have around 10 teaching staffs with the number of students in their respective departments ranging from 50 to 150. Most teaching staffs have PHDs and give lectures to the class while interacting with them. Students can interact with the teachers and ask questions in person or online.
Interview Experience :
After clearing the entrance exams, applicants are eligible to go for an interview from the principal after which they will complete the admission process. A student who is great at his studies, with good habits and great conduct will not find it hard to enter this college. The entrance test mainly consist of some General Knowledge questions and questions from their chosen subjects. Reading books and being up to date with the news is the best way to ensure getting into this college
