- The environment is very good. The view from our block is awesome.
- The canteen food is also tasty and at affordable price. You can also enjoy the local market foods that includes fresh fruits like pineapple, watermelon, Berry's, coconut etc.
- The education system is quite good and they take strict action against poor attendance.
Dislikes
- We literary have no summer and winter vacation.
- We face problem during heavy rainfall due to which the road got damaged.
- The fans in the summer doesn't work properly.I mean it is very low voltage there
Remarks :
Candidates must have scored minimum 50% marks. You can find the application form both in offline and online mode . In online mode you can visit the official site by searching USTM in Google. And you can directly visit to the administration block for the offline mode. You can discuss the reservation benefits with the administrative officer. The addmission process is very smooth and the easy to understand. You have to fill up the form by following the instructions given by them.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I have pursued my graduation from NOWGONG COLLEGE in ZOOLOGY so I have chosen this course. The ratio is good. They have provided experienced teachers. M.Sc., Ph.D., B.Ed, M.Phil, (SLET qualified) They try their best to give us more and more information regarding the topics. There are three sessional exams in a semester and then one final exam. The questions are basically concept based and syllabus based. If you read whole syllabus then it's not difficult to pass.
Internships Opportunities :
The Training & Placement Division of University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya facilitates the process of placement of students passing out from the university. The division also collaborates with leading organizations for Placement, internship and training program of students. The division liaises with different industrial establishments, corporate houses, MNC’s etc. to conduct campus placement drives graduate and post-graduate students from all disciplines of the University. USTM provides very god infra-structural facilities to conduct different process of selection like group discussions, tests and interviews besides catering to other logistics.The placement season runs throughout the year. Pre-Placement Talks, Job offers, interviews, selection of candidates and other information are announced through the Training & Placement division. The division evolves a broad policy framework every year besides a set of rules which are inviolable for the students.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
You can visit the official site of Fee Structure -USTM for further details regarding fees. Both the semester and admission fees are different. You also have to pay a Caution Deposit (Refundable) of 10000/15000 Rupees as per the course. The Admission fees for different courses starts from 15000-70000/75000 Rupees. University gives a scholarship on merit basis but I don't know much. But you can gather the information from the Administration.
Campus Life :
The campus life is good. As the environment is very relaxing. Freshers, annual day and some interesting programs are held in the university campus. Some exciting compititions are also arranged by the various departments and all of the university students can participate their. For example we had some events like Managemia by the MBA department, Some workshop program by department of zoology, chemistry, botany and microbiology. Also some interesting talks and sessions are organised by the authorities.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel facility are almost average but the hostel food is not that much better.I have heard it from my friends who were staying in the hostels.If you want to stay in the campus hostel then you can apply for it during the addmission procedure. And if you want to stay outside then Six-mile, Panjabari, downtown, beltola will be great. You can easily afford university or private buses for transportation.
Faculty :
So in our department we had more than 400 students including Bachelor and masters and total a number of faculty members are 14. Most of them are P.H D qualifications and has M.Phil. They give their best to teach us. And also very friendly.
Interview Experience :
You have to pass by minimum 50% marks to take admission. There is no such process of interview and test pattern it's merit based. You have to fill up s registration form cost 1000 both in offline and online mode. You can also take admission by online mode. For offline mode Once you filled out the registration form you have to visit the administration for the admission procedure. You have fill up the form and verify your original documents at the same block.
