Remarks :

You've to have 50% or above in 10+2 from any stream from any board. The application for this can be found on the college website. They do run a scholarship test called MIT INDORE AVANTIKA UNIVERSITY DST. if you pass the drawing test that is the first round. You're called for an interview and a design challenge. If you clear that too, you get a scholarship for around 50-90% on tution fee for first year. The test is taken before your board exams. This test is conducted once a year. And it can be 8/10 on the difficulty level.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I had a mutual friend of mine who's a senior, I asked her about the courses that run and all before coming and the academic curriculum was something that became a deciding factor for me to join. It is very relevant in making of a industry ready professional. I really loved almost every course taken in the first year. And every assignment teach you something that'll help you in the upcoming assignments. I've seen a good growth in myself. There are continuous assignments which contributes to 80% of our semester end result. And for our betterment there is a end sem jury where an external faculty comes for external validation. Which I find very amazing and much needed. The evaluation of the external faculty contributs 20% of our sem end result.

Internships Opportunities :

Pre placements after completing of 6th semester students have to compulsorily do a onsite internship. It's like a mini placement round only. You've to give design tests, portfolio rounds, interview rounds for grabbing an internship. Some are paid and some are unpaid internships, companies like IKEA, big basket, josmo studios, IBM, etc are available for internship opportunities. I haven't had any experience of internship as I'm in my 3rd sem only

Placement Experience :

Students are eligible for the placements from the 7th semester. Last year the average was around 8.5lpa but this year it was dropped to 6lpa due to recession and all, the placements season is still going on. IBM, Capgemini, Deloitte, etc and alot of renounced design studios also participate in the campus placements. My plans after getting my degree is to work in the industry initially and then maybe go for masters.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Around 6-8% hike in the composite fees was seen this year. There are plenty of scholarship available too. I don't know much about it. But there are good learn and earn scholarship that are available too. I was selected for a learn and earn scholarship last year. the stipend was on per hour basis. There are scholarship for 12th toppers, sports scholarships are also available. But compared to other design colleges. This college is quite affordable

Campus Life :

There is no club that is active as of now. There is a very good organization called iConnect, that calls industry experts for talks and interactive workshops every Friday. iConnect is a student led organisation only. The hostel and mess is quite good and provides with a lot of variety in the menu. Almost all the festivals are celebrated from across India. The gym and sports infrastructure is also good. I've heard there is a debate/communication club is opening very soon.

Faculty :

I'm currently in my second year now, it has just started recently. In my first hear the faculty student ratio was around 1:30 most probably. The faculties are very good at their job. Almost all th faculties are from the industry... So we get alot of insights about the industry and they know what the industry needs and they teach us accordingly. The faculties are from the top design colleges from India as well as abroad. And the best thing is there is no hierarchy system. If you want to approach a faculty you can do that anytime in the college working hours. You just have to ask for their time. Even if that faculty doesn't teach you, you can still approach them.

Review: Avantika University MIT ID Ujjain

Placement Experience :

The placements of the college totally depend on your work and portfolio so building a strong and good portfolio is in our and our hands only. The placements will come accordingly and semester 8 students i.e 4th Year students are usually eligible for placements. There are varities of companies which visit and offer placements for example : Google, Apple, Cognizant, etc. Highest package offered is 2400000 per annum and average packages are starting at 800000 per annum. Student percentages getting placements are 88% four years back, 78% three years back, 56% two years back and 26% last year so there were problems in placements a year back and two due the changes in industry. My plans after degree are either starting my own studio or joining a friend's firm.
