- Good, spacy and well maintained library.
- Labs are well maintained and in good condition.
- A well maintained lawn garden and clean environment.
- Free bus facility, being a girls college, provides us with bus pass for free bus facility.
- Timely inter department quizes and sports competition.
- Well maintained auditorium with very large and spacious area.
- Some teachers are really very cooperative and helps a lot.
Dislikes
- Sometimes staff does a lot of holidays and there are no classes and we don’t even know when they will continue.
- In our last sem, we don’t have teacher for one subject.
Remarks :
The eligibility for BCA course is 55% marks in 12th class in any stream with maths or computer science or information technology as one of the subjects. I got admission in GCG which is affiliated to MDU, Rohtak. So, I found the forms on website of MDU which led to it's admission portal which was named higher education haryana. We firstly made a profile on the website then, we filled the admission form and in the form we filled the course preference along with the college prefernce. We are alotted college according to our percentage in 12th class. I opted on 1st for bca and 2nd as bcom. But i got bca in first list. The admission form fees was 100 rupees. After around 1 month the merit list and college alottment list was out. And i opted under BCB (OBC) , whose cutoff is lower than general candidate, and i got the preferred course in preferred college. We get our exams at end of our semester of 6 months i.e. we get exams every 6 months with moderate difficulty. Admn. process is easy.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Well, I wanted to do a technical course and BCA being a techinal course and that too in affordable range, so I opted for this. After bca, we get get a decent package if we have knowledge of the concepts. In today's world, everyone first need is a job and BCA gives us a golden opportunity to get a good job in some gaint companies and MNC's. In today's digital world, internet and online things are full of coding and hence it helps us to be a step ahead. That's my opinion for opting out for BCA. Our course is well planned and taught well to us, but somewhere I think that guidance sessions should also be there so that students can be aware of the opportunities after BCA and teachers should also guide students. Generally, we have a semester system in which we have a semester of 6 months. During 6 months, 5 months is for completing syllabus and then 6 month is conduction of exams(generally june and december).The exams mostly test our practical skills well with easy to moderate difficulty.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees in our 1st year was nearly 7000 and then in our second year, it got reduced to 6000. So basically there was no hike in fees. Apart from it, there are forms for obc, sc and st girls to get some part of their fees refunded but we have to get forms from office desk. We are informed about scholarships as soon as there is any scheme or scholarship comes.I myself applied for scholarship in which we get a amount of Rs 2000 monthly for 1 one year. We got a bus pass which provides us with a free bus service from college to distant areas which is very helpful for us. The college offers some decent courses like bcom, bca , mcom etc but I, myself, don't know whether there are placements or not. But teachers do take sessions to help students to prepare for placements.
Campus Life :
Our college organise timely departmentsl fests in which different department's students along with professors display their skills and conduct different activities. We also get speaker''s session time to time with different speakers who have an expertise in particular field come and tell us about his expertised field. During these two years, once the annual fest was organised in which there were different sports and different teams from each course participated. There are unofficial socities formed by students. Joining these helps us improve in different aspects, like joining the dance society definitely gonna improve our dance skills. And different societies of students helps us interact better skill development and interaction.
Faculty :
We have a class strength of 74 students and 6 professors in BCA department which gives us a rough ratio of student to teacher as 12:1. BCA was a course that was newly introduced in gcg Ballabhgarh. So, professors are yet to be appointed. But the faculty we have, follows practical approach, bca being a coding dominant subject, we spent most of our times in lab on computer. Here our professors teach our about codes and we practically try it on different software And for the theory portion, teachers first teach us the concept and some question and then we have to do the rest. And if we have any doubts, we get them resolved from professors in free time. We interact with our teachers very often as while coding, we face errors and for solution, we approach them. Apart from doubts and teaching, they give us valuable life lessons too. The only turn off we find is that, the faculty on basis of number of students is low and sometimes they do some unwanted holidays.
