If you are interested in pursuing a career in animation after completing your HS/Graduation in Arts, there are various courses you can consider. Some of the popular animation courses are mentioned below:

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation: This is a four-year undergraduate program that focuses on traditional animation techniques, digital animation, 3D animation, and gaming. This program covers topics such as drawing, design, digital media, storyboarding, character development, and visual effects.
  • Diploma in Animation: A one or two-year diploma program in animation will teach you the basics of 2D and 3D animation, modeling, rigging, lighting, texturing, and character animation. It also focuses on software applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects, as well as 3D software like Autodesk Maya and Maxon Cinema 4D.
  • Certificate Course in Animation: This is a short-term course, usually spanning over three to six months, where you can learn the basics of animation, such as 2D and 3D animation, character designing, and digital editing. This course will give you an introduction to the field and provide you with the necessary skills to start your career in animation.
  • Post-Graduate Diploma in Animation: A post-graduate diploma in animation is a one-year program that provides advanced training in animation, visual effects, and gaming. This program is designed for students who want to specialize in a particular area of animation and build a portfolio to showcase their skills to potential employers.

In terms of choosing the best course to get a job, it really depends on your interests, skills, and career goals. You should consider the curriculum, the reputation of the institution, the faculty, and the resources available to you. It is also recommended to research the job market in your area to see which skills are in demand and tailor your course selection accordingly.

It’s not necessary to be a graduate for taking admission in Diploma courses. You can easily get admission after the 12th. Most importantly, there is no age limit for admission.

All courses are the best for job placement. If you are a creative person, you can do animation and if you are a technical person, you can pursue VFX. However, this doesn't mean you have to be technical or creative to do VFX or animation.
