Some people believe that the BBA program at St. Xavier’s Kolkata is not on par with other institutions. However, this is not correct. The course has, over the years, improved in every aspect. The course intake is not very high, something that assures a better learning experience for the students.

The program offers an enriching experience. The entrance test is based on Maths, Aptitude, and English. There is no negative marking.

Some students are offered amazing packages, some are offered decent ones. The opportunity to study and live in Kolkata is a big one in itself.

The attendance criteria and course study might cause hindrances in CAT preparation at times. But with proper management, that will be overall manageable.

If you get the chance, you should consider pursuing your BBA from St. Xavier’s Kolkata. The program and the institution will offer you exposure.

St. Xavier’s Kolkata has ranked at 5th position in the NIRF 2023 Rankings: Colleges Category.

Bachelor of Business Administration offered by St Xaviers College is a rigorous program. It is at par with the B.Com course if not better.

Some other points that you might like to know.

  • Strict attendance requirements: You have to attend a minimum of 75% of classes in order to be eligible for appearing in the semester exams. You can do with a 60–75% attendance as well by paying a condonation fee per subject.
  • Satisfactory faculty: The faculty is satisfactory as the professors are experienced and student-friendly. They have an approach similar to the ones followed by various B-schools.
  • Gender ratio: BBA classes are fun in comparison to other classes as the gender ratio is approximately 50-50.
  • Better networking: As the batch size is small, you get to know your classmates quite well. The connections you make at the college can be quite helpful in the future.
  • Class Schedule: The 4-hour long class schedule is great, as you can concentrate on other things like preparing for CAT or other competitive examinations.
  • Curriculum: The course curriculum is similar to that of BCom. Only the semester-wise arrangement varies.
  • Placement: The Placement Cell has picked up its pace in the past few years and has got big names on board like Big 4, Google, Uber, etc. But great packages at the undergrad level are not something very common.

For admission, you have to take an entrance test of 50 marks. There is no negative marking. The entrance exam comprises questions from Math and English. Admission is awarded on the basis of board results and entrance test with 50% weightage to each category.
