Ranking-wise the preference order of the above-mentioned courses is

IIT Delhi > IIT Kanpur > IIT Roorkee > IIT BHU

Based on their closing rank, the branches can be arranged in the following order

Chemical>Metallurgy>Textile

This was based on general data, but if you have an inclination towards a specific branch, then go for it without much hesitation. Your passion will keep you motivated despite various challenges thrown at you. But in case you have no specific preference, then you can consider the college and branch ranking to make an informed decision.

Apart from CS and Electrical, students from most branches opt for non-core jobs which require much more than their core academics for placements. In that case, you can prefer IIT BHU over IIT Roorkee.

Ultimately, the final decision is yours to make. Choose wisely considering various factors like location, friends, etc,

For higher studies, IIT Delhi Textile Engineering will be better. You can choose Polymer Chemistry or Material Sciences after your graduation. Pursuing higher studies in an unrelated area has its challenges, but Textile engineering graduates of IIT Delhi were able to follow their interests, after working as research assistants in the field. University of Akron sponsors students from IIT Delhi regularly.

As an institute, IIT Delhi will offer you better opportunities in terms of internships and placements compared to IIT BHU.

Chemical Engineering from IIT BHU is better as compared to choosing Textiles Engineering from IIT Delhi from the context of going for higher studies. Chemical Engineering has better scope and prospects in India. Textile Engineering, on the other hand, is still an evolving field in which ample research and study haven’t been pursued.

Only selected universities in India provide opportunities for further studies in Textile Engineering. On the contrary, Chemical Engineering is a widely practiced field and has brighter prospects, both from the viewpoint of further studies and also based on placement scenario. IIT BHU offers decent placements to Chemical Engineering students, In 2019 a total of 104 students got placement from this department. The average CTC offered at this IIT was around 10 LPA to 58.21 LPA. Chemical Engineering has a wider scope, both in India as well as abroad.

Many Chemical Engineering graduates from IIT BHU have been successful in securing their admissions for further studies in reputed colleges of the world. Many of them have got the distinction of being elite scientists in reputed organizations of the world. Textile Engineering, on the contrary, does not offer so many opportunities.
