Posted On - Apr 26, 2021To understand the basic of CSE, you need to study science subjects such as Physics, Mathematics, etc. You need basic understanding of these subjects, to handle tough engineering concepts. These subjects also help build logical and conceptual thinking. If you don’t have a basic understanding of these subjects, you will learn to code blindly. This isn’t beneficial in long run. Top technological institutes like IIIT Hyderabad have compulsory science subjects.
The curriculum of IIIT Lucknow has been set up not just by the management members of the IIIT Lucknow family also by the Directors of top colleges of India and Industry experts.

Speaking about CSE department students in general at NITs and IITs the curriculum is still excessive and the common first-year curriculum makes you study PCM and others.
There are 2-4 subjects that are an exception like Biotechnology and Informatics because they are related to a bio-based industry. Generally, due to their complete focus on IT, they always have an updated curriculum complementing the recent trends, unlike IITs or NITs which focus on other departments as well.
