Getting a GD-PI call from KJ Somaiya can be difficult. For PGDM, there are no minority seats. KJ Somaiya MBA cutoff 2022 details are as follows.

Entrance Examination  Expected Cutoff
CAT 2021 83-85 Percentile
XAT 2022 70-73 Percentile
GMAT 500-650 Score
CMAT 2022 98 Percentile
NMAT 2021 225-230 Score

Other than the cutoff, KJ Somaiya considers past academics, extra-curricular activities, and past academics for shortlisting candidates.

It’s not that difficult to get into K J Somiya for MBA. The institute accepts scores of different entrance examinations like CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/NMAT.

KJ Somaiya MBA Cutoff 2022 -

Examination  KJ Somaiya Cutoff
CAT 83%
XAT 70%
GMAT 500
NMAT 222
CMAT 93%

The weightage parameters for selection are as follows.

  • Entrance Exam (CAT/GMAT/CMAT/NMAT/XAT) - 35%
  • Group Discussion - 15%
  • Personal Interview - 25%
  • Work Experience - 5%
  • Past Academic Record - 10%
  • Outstanding Achievements - 10%

So, if you have a decent entrance score and profile, you can get a shortlist easily.

K J Somaiya is considered to be one of the most sought and finest B-schools. This is major because of its fees, location as well as the placements offered by them.

  • A CAT percentile of around 90 is considered good enough to get a call from them. But the real challenge that students face is after they get the call.
  • Out of all the B-schools, K J Somaiya is one of those few that emphasize a student’s SOP.
  • Apart from this, it also considers a student’s past academics and extracurricular achievements to judge their chances of selection. But as per their recent brochure, it seems that they have changed their focus to Group Discussion.
  • A 50% weightage is given to CAT/XAT scores and the factors stated above and apart from this, students will be grilled through an extempore and a personal interview round.

Therefore, it is suggested to start preparing for GD and PI because no matter how good or bad your academics are, they cannot be changed but one can always work on these aspects. If you think you will get a good CAT score, then a good performance in GD and PI would fetch you your desired call. And hence, it would not be that difficult.
