BPUT has a very simple and clear formula for converting CGPA to percentage. It is-

percentage= (cgpa-0.5) * 10

For example, you attained 7.57 CGPA.

In this case, your percentage will be (7.57-0.5)*10= 70.7%

This is the method of conversion followed by BPUT. You can also find it on their official website.

The CGPA to Percentage conversion formula in BPUT is as follows.

(CGPA - 0.5) * 10

Let’s say you have scored a CGPA of 8.5. The corresponding percentage for your CGPA is -

(8.5 - 0.5) * 10 = 8.0 * 10 = 80%

Here is a video explaining the same

You can easily calculate your percentage by following the above formula.

First of all, you should know about the grade criterion of the college. The following is the grading criteria -

Marks

Grades

Points

90-100

O

10

80-89

E

9

70-79

A

8

60-69

B

7

50-59

C

6

35-49

D

5

You need to multiply the respective subjects’ credit points to their grade as one has secured. For example, if you have studies Math having 4 credits, that means you have secured an A grade or 8 points which makes it 8*4=32 points.

Similarly, you can calculate for all the subjects and then make a total of them all. After this is done, divide the total points with the net or total credits of that semester. This is how SGPA is calculated.

Following is an example to understand this in a better way:

Subject

Credits

Grades

Points Scored

Applied Math

4

C

4*6=24

IPME

3

B

3*7=21

MOS

4

E

4*9=36

FMHM

4

A

4*8=32

ET

4

E

4*9=36

KDM

5

E

5*9=45

OS

3

B

3*7=21

CGPA is just the average of all the SGPAs. We can also convert CGPA to Percentage as if CGPA is 8.23. According to BPUT, the percentage would be - (CGPA-0.5) *10 -> =8.23-0.5=7.73 -> =7.73*10=77.3%.

Hence, referring to this we could acquire the percentage of a candidate which he/she obtained in their BPUT examination.
