You should choose IIT BHU CSE. It is among the top 7 IITs and offers better opportunities to students.

  • IIT BHU CSE fees are INR 5.33 Lakhs. While BITS Pilani charges INR 18.98 Lakhs for the CSE degree. If you join IIT BHU, you don’t need to spend a huge amount on your undergraduate degree. You can save that money for doing master's.
  • IIT tag offers many advantages. If you are going to apply to ivy league schools, having a degree from a reputed IIT will be a plus. IIT BHU professors are well-reputed and having LORs from them will get you into a good college.
  • IIT BHU has a huge alumni base and you will have much better networking opportunities.
  • It offers excellent placement opportunities for CSE students. IIT BHU CSE average package is INR 25 LPA.

These are some of the reasons that make IIT BHU a better choice compared to BITS Pilani.

It is hard to single out any one of the Institute between the choices. However, let’s compare the Institutes and eventually, the branch on the following factors:

  • Infrastructure:BITS being a private institute offer good infrastructure with 990 acres of beautifully built campus. On the other hand, the buildings and hostel of IIT BHU are a bit old compared to privately funded BITS Pilani.
  • Fees:IIT BHU being a government-funded Institute, will cost almost half of BITS Pilani. The latest fee hike graduation at BITS Pilani will cost you around 3.6 lakhs/annum compared to IIT BHU, which will cost approximately 2.5 lakhs/annum, with a refund of fee for the reserved category students.
  • Peer Group:Students at IIT BHU come through JEE Advanced and are among the good rankers, so the peer group is always competitive, and you get to learn a lot from each other. BITS takes admission through BITSAT, another tough exam, except for any reservations in it. So, the peer group at BITS is also quite good, as all seats are filled based on mere talent.
  • Teaching:BITS Pilani being one of the oldest institutes and private run Institute, gets an edge on this compared to IIT BHU, which achieved IIT status just a few years back.
  • Coding Culture:IIT BHU has a better coding culture, which has been showcased in Inter IIT fests. The Coding Clubs are very active and conduct sessions & Competitions regularly.
  • Placements:When it comes to placements, both the Institute has prominent associations with some big MNCs and a considerable number of companies visiting the campus, to mention few(only CSE):

Top recruiters of IIT BHU include Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Bosch, Uber, Paytm, Walmart, GE, Hero, etc.

  • Highest Package:1.53 Crore ( International)
  • Average Package:8.19 LPA

Some prominent recruiters of BITS Pilani are Adobe Systems. Bank of America, B&C, Barclays, Infosys, PwC, JPMC, Opera, etc.

Average Package:14.86 LPA

Last but not least, “IIT” Tag would help you if you are thinking about pursuing higher studies in foreign, as IIT is well known outside India.
