If you want a career in litigation, then Allahabad University is a good option. You will get ample time and resources to build required skills. Allahabad High Court and lower courts will assist in clearing your basics and make you a professional. It is a good option for judicial services too. You will be able to manage your preparations, as attendance rules aren’t strict.

But for corporate sector jobs, Allahabad University isn’t a good option. Very few companies visit the campus placements.

Allahabad University law degrees are cost-effective compared to NLUs. The total tuition fee for LLB at the university is only INR 2.3 Lakhs. Also, Allahabad isn’t a costly city.

The decision of taking admission here must be based upon what you are probing for and expecting of these five or three years. Here are some pros and cons that you may consider when you make your own decision

Pros:

  • Classes don't put a lot of pressure on you and usually finish by 2:00 in the afternoon. You have plenty of time to invest wisely in yourself.
  • If you want to go to the judicial services, invest this time in preparing for it.
  • If you are interested in litigation you can learn through internships in district court or high court.
  • The fee for the 3 years law course is as least as possible and for the 5 years law course, it is lower as compared to other institutions providing the same degree.
  • Hostel and the mess fees are reasonably priced. Overall the place is affordable and good.
  • Getting a degree from a central university always leaves you on the brighter side.

Cons:

  • Coming here will be useless if you are looking for a profession in the corporate/company sector.
  • The placement cell is zero and has no placement drives. The university does not get involved with your corporate/company dreams and internships.
  • The teaching staff is no longer so promising as most of the renowned teachers have already retired.
  • You might not get satisfied with the campus and college life as even the canteen is hard to deal with.

So, choose wisely and make an informed decision that suits you best and will help your career to progress and move forward.
