If you're considering Great Lakes Institute of Management (Chennai/Gurgaon) for MBA, you should be aware that it may not be a good option. There are numerous students with bad experiences during their interviews and found that the companies that come for placement are not very good. The placement process for the PGDM and PGPM batches of Great Lakes Chennai in 2023 has come to an end. The highest package offered was INR 46 LPA, while the average salary for the PGDM batch was INR 14.5 LPA and for the PGPM batch, it was INR 18.10 LPA. Additionally, the campus is small and lacks open spaces or grounds.

So if you're thinking about joining Great Lakes, you should be cautious. It's not a good idea to join just for the sake of doing an MBA. You should choose a business school that will help you build a successful career, not ruin it.

You will be evaluated on your performance/scores in any of the GMAT/CAT/XAT/CMAT exams. Then, your past academic scores, essays, work experience, and how you perform at the interview- all will be scrutinized.

The selection process is based on the evaluation of the following criteria-

  • Standardized Test Scores: It can get you an edge over other candidates and help you in getting the campus of your choice too. A CAT percentile of 80 and above will lead you to the Gurgaon campus and that of 85 and above into the Chennai campus.
  • Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: It's a management course, and hence you'll have to demonstrate your leadership abilities in the GD, interview, and if you've had any in your past roles in school or office.
  • Integrity and Ethical Values: You must be ethical in practices and arguments

You will also find students from various backgrounds in the institute and you must have the requisite skills to strengthen your network. All in all the admission process is neither rough nor smooth. Most of it depends on who you are on the profile you submitted.
