New Delhi: Xavier Institute of Management (XIM), Bhubaneswar conducted its Mercatique 22, the Annual Marketing Conclave on the campus ground on September 11, 2022. The event was hosted by MAXIM, the marketing committee of the institute.

XIM Bhubaneswar Organizes Annual Marketing Conclave

As per XIM Bhubaneswar, this year’s theme for Annual Marketing Conclave was “Driving Growth in the era of New Age Customers". During the event, Prof. Krishna Das Gupta shared his views on the topic, "Post-pandemic is truly a new age and a new customer".

The Mercatique 2022 event was held in the presence of Mr. Sriram Gopalaswamy, Sr VP, Ecommerce, Welspun Group; Mr. Sameer Jain, VP & Head, D2C E-commerce, Max Life Insurance Company, and Mr. Tribikram Mishra, Vice President, Myntra.

The event included discussions on various topics, such as Post-pandemic and its effect on new customers, Cross Border E-Commerce, D2C Business - The Dark Horse in Life Insurance, D2C and Omnichannel transforming retail and Discovery Commerce. 

During the event, Mr. Sriram Gopalaswamy, Sr VP E-Commerce, Welspun Group shared his thoughts on "Cross Border E-Commerce" and how the Indian Government is looking to promote exports. He mentioned, "Have the option to keep the product on the physical shelf and then give him an option to buy that online". 

While addressing the Annual Marketing Conclave, the second speaker, Mr. Sameer Jain, VP & Head of Max Life Insurance discussed the topic "D2C Business The Dark Horse in Life Insurance". 

In his statement, Mr. Sameer said, "Shoppers are now okay with shopping directly from brands’ own websites, and do not want to be dependent on intermediate channels. This shows how much consumers have changed".

Additionally, Mr. Tribikram Mishra, Vice president at Myntra shared his thoughts on the topic of, "D2C and Omnichannel transforming retail” and said, “When you are closer to the consumer, you see a lot of information coming back and impacting your decision-making."

After the discussion session, the institute launched its annual marketing magazine, called MaxEdge Magazine, and further announced the winners of Pitch Please, an event to pitch real-world solutions for real-life problems.
