New Delhi: Union Minister Piyush Goyal has announced that the Textiles Ministry is planning to start various hybrid courses at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) campuses to accommodate more students.
With this initiative, the NIFT campuses in India will be used for offering various courses to students through online and physical mediums. The education facilities provided by the institute will be utilized so that more students will have the opportunity to pursue courses from NIFTs.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal made the statement on Sunday, August 14, 2022, on the occasion of Har Ghar Tiranga Mahotsav. During the event, he hosted the national flag at Gandhi Darshan Museum here and distributed flags to participants.
While addressing the event, he said, "The campaign will generate a sense of patriotism in every citizen. Come let us all be a part of this campaign". He further appealed to people to use made-in-India goods and help India become a developed country.
"Let us all pledge together that when Har Ghar Tiranga will be hoisted on 15th August, from that day we will also understand the priority of Swadeshi. We will contribute like a squirrel in a self-reliant India, only then will this country become great and developed," he added.
As of now, NIFT has its campuses in different cities including NIFT Chennai, NIFT Gandhinagar , NIFT Kolkata, NIFT Hyderabad, and NIFT Mumbai . The institute offers various undergraduate and postgraduate level courses to interested students on campus grounds.
Some of the top courses offered at NIFT are B.Des ., B.F.Tech, M.Des., M.F.M., and M.F.Tech. Admission to these courses is done on the basis of marks secured in NIFT Entrance Exam and performance of applicants in Group Discussion and Personal Interview Round.
