Sastra University has announced a collaboration with TCS-iON, a digital assessment solution provider for conducting the proctored hybrid end-semester examination. The academic council of Sastra University approved this decision after considering the cons and pros of hybrid online examination.
In their discussion, the Sastra University council found that the hybrid model does not compromise the integrity of the examinations and students will also not be required to travel from long distances to the campus to write the exam.

The university is planning to hold the exam in TCS-iON centers located in over 130 districts of the country. Sastra University will offer more than 50000 assessments to nearly 10000 students of the institute.
Vice-Chancellor of Sastra University, S Vaidhyasubramaniam said, “This SASTRA-TCS partnership is the first of its kind during this pandemic and is a win-win for all stakeholders.”
Students of Sastra University will be given the choice to choose their preferred examination centers and appear on the date as per their convenience. The question paper will be delivered online and students will write the answer in the answer scripts provided at the exam centers. These answer scripts will later be sent to the university for evaluation.
The VC of Sastra University also assured the students that those who cannot take the exam at the centers need not worry. Such students will be offered the option to take the exam on campus at the end of the semester. He also ensured that this will not affect their academic class or distinction.
