Punjab NEET Counselling 2020: At the end of the first round of Punjab NEET 2020 Counselling which started on October 26, 2020, to fill up 1,425 seats in 9 medical colleges, 441 seats were reported to be vacant.
The vacant seats were declared after all the medical colleges submitted the list of surrendered seats to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS). The Punjab NEET Counselling is conducted under the guidance and supervision of BFUHS, Faridkot.

The fact that needs to be highlighted is that the second round of counselling will be conducted to fill the vacant seats, and BFUHS is currently inviting applications for that.
To participate in the Punjab NEET 2020 counselling, a candidate needs to register online on the official website of BFUHS. Candidates must keep in mind that the applications for the Punjab NEET Counselling will be accepted via online mode only. Applications submitted through e-mail or offline will not be accepted.
Several students have surrendered their seats due to the rise in the tuition fee. For the second round, Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences has offered intake in 111 MBBS seats and it has a total of 150 MBBS seats. In SCRDMC, Amritsar, 79 seats have been declared vacant out of 150 MBBS seats.
The number of vacant seats in Government Medical Colleges at Faridkot, Amritsar, and Patiala is 24, 35, and 43, respectively. In DMCH (Ludhiana), CMC (Ludhiana), PIMS (Jalandhar), and Gian Sagar (Banur), there are 24, 18, 52, and 55 vacant seats respectively.
This year all medical colleges in the state have received fewer NRI candidates’ applications for admissions due to the widespread COVID-19. The nine medical colleges in Punjab offer 160 NRI quota MBBS seats, out of which 129 seats were declared vacant by the University.

Candidates who have qualified NEET 2020 and are domicile of Punjab can apply for the state quota seats. In DMC, Ludhiana, a minimum of 5 NRI seats is vacant.
The number of seats vacant respectively for GMCs at Amritsar, Patiala, and Faridkot is 13,13, and 19. The count of vacant NRI seats in the private medical colleges are as follows - 23 in Gian Sagar, 22 in Adesh, 22 in PIMS, and 12 in SGRD.
