Pondicherry University has decided to provide two more special opportunities for students who have not yet completed their courses through Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) and twinning programs.
Pondicherry University has released an official notification stating that the university has decided to offer two more special chances to students after receiving various requests from the students. The Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University, Professor Gurmeet Singh approved the request.
The Varsity has planned to conduct the semester examination in online mode considering the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic from January 18, 2021, to February 23, 2021. Candidates will be appearing for the examination from home and the question paper will be provided online.

The official press release stated, “All the MBA students of the Academic Year 2005-06 to the Calendar Year 2016 batch and students of MCom, MA (English, Sociology, Hindi) from 2014-15 batch to the 2016 calendar year batch who have already exhausted the maximum prescribed period for completing the degree are granted two more chances by the Vice-Chancellor (i.e., one in January 2021 and another one in June 2021 examination sessions) in order to complete their courses by re-registering themselves.”
Candidates could re-register for the semester examination from the official website of Pondicherry University @pondiuni.edu.in on or before December 31, 2020. The University also stated that students who have already registered for the Semester - II and IV examination but have arrear in Semester - I and III could also register to take part in the examination in January 2021.
Candidates should submit another application form for the Semester - I and III arrears along with the required fee. Candidates are not required to pay INR 50 once again for the mark statement.

It is to be noted that the schedule and exam details for the June 2021 examination will be announced in May 2021. Pondicherry University DDE has also announced that the Personal Contact Programs were being conducted in the form of webinars.
DDE stated that a large number of students have participated in the webinar through online mode. The video lectures were also recorded and uploaded on the official website of Pondicherry University DDE has uploaded the webinar content so that the students who failed to attend the webinar could make use of it.
Pondicherry University DDE has also uploaded the study materials online to make it easily accessible to students in the time of COVID 19 pandemic. The revised time table is also uploaded on the official website of the University. Candidates can also contact Dr. Arvind Gupta, Assistant Director (DDE Exams) for further exam related queries.
